Movashaka attended Music Matters, an Asia music industry conference, in Hong Kong a few months ago. We have been given permission to share the recording we made of the impromptu Artist mentoring session with Rob McDermott, personal manager to Linkin Park, and Terry McBride, from Nettwerk Music Group, which manages a roster of artists that includes Jamiroquai, BT and Stereophonics.

In this, the first part of a three-part recording of this session, Rob and Terry talk about how they each got started in the Artist Management side of the music business. They also reveal their thoughts on what the key to commercial success is in today’s music business landscape.
